26" x 26" (66cm x 66cm) - Mixed Media on Wood Panel, framed.
At first viewing, it appears as though the high-gloss surface of this work is glass. You soon realize that there are many layers that are floating and embedded within and into this "glass" (resin) surface. The different layers of paints, physical elements and design weave in and out of each other in a familiar nature-inspired way, yet still appear unlike anything we've seen before.
The piece is named Lavaliere because some have said it evokes a sense of an extravagant woman's necklace.
Elements used in this work include acrylic paint, resin, alcohol inks, acrylic inks, guilding paints, stones, crushed glass, glitters, glass crystals, silicone caulk and paint pens.
This work is framed in a beautiful custom Oak frame, hand-built and stained by the artist.
