Mardi Gras Queen

Mardi Gras Queen

36" x 36" (91.44cm x 91.44 cm) - Mixed Media on Canvas

There are many legendary elements to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but perhaps the most enigmatic, interesting and beautiful are the Mardi Gras Indians and the amazing suits they create and wear each year. The richness of their culture is mesmerizing and inspiring.

This piece incorporates a lot of physical elements which make it jump off of the canvas. This is best experienced in person, although the video above does a decent job of giving you some sense of it's physical depth.

This piece makes a strong statement on a wall and can easily be the focal point of a room. The surface is high-gloss creating a sense of opulence.

The work is made up of acrylic paints, resin, alcohol inks, crushed glass and glass crystals, metal, feathers, jewels, pearls, and paint pen.

AVAILABLE for viewing and purchase.
